House On The Corner (HOTC) is a program sponsored by Christ United Methodist Church. Each year, the church builds a house for a family in need from the ground up in the church parking lot. Construction on the 5th house will begin on May 3 and we will have work days every Saturday except the Saturday of Memorial Day through the middle of September. Midway through, the house is moved to a permanent location in East Plano where construction continues. More than 1,000 volunteers contribute to this effort every year. This project is bigger than building a house. It’s about building a community of people that have a desire to grow in their faith and serve.
You do not have to have experience in construction to participate. All are welcome and skills are taught by experienced crew chiefs. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a part of something that changes lives.
Childcare is available for children ages 6 and under. Children ages 7 to 11 can assist with volunteer support if their parent is working support along side them. Children ages 12 to 15 can help with volunteer support if the child’s parent is working on site in any capacity. Our members who are 16 years of age and older can work on the construction.
Hope we see you at the corner!!!
